This 30 acre property was purchased by the Trust in 2019 to secure a future trailhead location to support the Lewes to Georgetown trail.  The first phase of construction will begin in 2023 and consist of a parking lot, a connection to the Lewes to Georgetown trail and a small rest area.  The property was acquired due to its strategic location roughly half way between Lewes and Georgetown making it an ideal location for a trailhead.  The Lewes to Georgetown trail is a 17 mile bike/pedestrian trail extending between the two towns following a former railway bed, spearheaded by the Delaware Department of Transportation (DELDOT).  The property was purchased with several funding sources provided by the Delaware Open Space Council, Sussex County Council and the Delaware Division of Parks.
