Harold “Hal” Carmean II grew up on the Eastern Shore where he lives with his family today. He has been involved in the financial industry since graduating college in 1999. In 2011, Hal founded Creative Wealth Management, LLC, a boutique financial planning firm, and in 2018, CWM Advisory, LLC a registered investment adviser. Along with serving his company and clients, Hal regularly serves as a mentor to students and adults in various capacities such as coaching, hiking in the mountains, and leadership events. Hal is also an avid ultrarunner completing multiple 100-mile races and other various events. His wife Mandi is Director of Technology for Worcester Preparatory School and enjoys her experiences helping children grow to their full potential. Hal and family also take an active role in their local church through missionary work both domestically and internationally, and they are joyfully involved in local and regional philanthropic activity. Hal and Mandi have two children, Landon and Adee, who are their pride and joy. Hal, Mandi, and the kids are avid sports fans and often spend their free time engaged in multiple outdoor activities.

Hal has a deep passion to preserve the beauty of what makes Sussex County so attractive for longtime residents and for the people just moving here. He considers Sussex County Land Trust to be uniquely positioned in the role of facilitating a bridge for the tension that exists between development and preservation. Hal firmly believes in serving our community through building relationships that show both can exist concurrently and aren’t mutually exclusive.
