Sussex County Land Trust Appoints Trisha Newcomer to Board of Directors

The Sussex County Land Trust (SCLT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the region’s natural, cultural, agricultural, and recreational resources, is pleased to announce the appointment of Trisha Newcomer to its Board of Directors.

With more than 25 years of experience in municipal government, economic development, and community relations, Newcomer brings a wealth of expertise to the board. She currently serves as the Director of Economic Development & Community Relations for the City of Seaford, where she plays a key role in managing public communications, overseeing significant development projects, and fostering collaborations with state and federal legislators.

Throughout her career, Newcomer has spearheaded successful initiatives, including the Oyster House Park Master Plan and the Western Sussex Business Campus, while securing crucial funding for local projects. She also has a strong background in marketing, public relations, and city operations, having previously served as the Economic Development & Information Technology Manager for the city.

Newcomer holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Wilmington University, an A.A.S. in Office Administration Technology from Delaware Technical Community College and is a Leadership Delaware graduate. Her commitment to the community extends beyond her professional role, as she actively serves on several boards, including the Sussex County Health Coalition and Soroptimist International of Seaford.
